fertilize: The act of making something able to reproduce.

hay fever: An allergic reaction to pollen in the air, usually producing sneezing, itching and watery eyes and usually seasonal in nature; not caused by hay.

heredity: Traits passed on from a person’s ancestors through genetic information.

histamine: A chemical compound the immune system releases in response to an allergen, causing an allergic reaction.

hot spot: A place with a relatively high pollen count.

Irish moss: Seaweed, dark purple in color, which looks like moss and can be used as a food additive.
